ADEGBOYEGA AWOMOLO (SAN), TAKES OVER AS 52nd CHAIRMAN BODY OF BENCHERS

Asiwaju Adegboyega Solomon Awomolo, SAN., has been sworn in as the new chairman, Body of Benchers (BoB). The Senior Advocate who took over from Hon. Justice Mary Ukaego Peter-Odili, (JSC, Rtd) as 52nd chair of the august body, who was a one-time Attorney General and commissioner for Justice in Osun State remark described as symbolic and a new call to service” the leadership of the body said the success of any chairman of the Body of Benchers is dependent upon the cooperation of all the members irrespective of status. BODY OF BENCHERS SET UP COMMITTEE TO ADDRESS DWINDLING CONFIDENCE IN THE JUDICIARY

A retired Justice of the Supreme Court, and chairman of the Body of Benchers, Justice Mary Peter - Odili, has described the current period as bad for the judiciary. Justice Odili, noted that the confidence in the judiciary was dwindling as a result of the spate of conflicting judgments and indiscipline among lawyers.
