AKEREDOLU: NBA PRESIDENT LEADS NATIONAL OFFICERS ON CONDOLENCE

 By: Tolu Mustapha  The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN has led the General Secretary, Adesina Adegbite, the 3rd Vice President, Amanda Demechi-Asagba, the Welfare Secretary, Chinyere Obasi and members of the NBA on a condolence visit to the family of former NBA President and Governor of Ondo State, late Arakurin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, CON, SAN at the family’s residence in Ibadan. Without further delay, the acting ONDO state Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa will be sworn in as the substantive Executive Governor of Ondo State any moment from now as prescribed by Section 191 (1) of the 1999 constitution as ammended: (1) The Deputy Governor of a State shall hold the office of Governor of the State if the office of Governor becomes vacant by reason of death, resignation, impeachment, permanent incapacity or removal of the governor from office for any other reason in accordance with section 188 or 189 of this constitution. With the constitution not allowing any room for vacum, the Ondo State Chief Judge will proceed to swear in Aiyedatiwa as the Governor of Ondo state. FORGERY: ONDO COMMISSIONER RAISES ALARM

  Ondo state commissioner for energy and mineral resources, Razaq Obe, has raised an alarm that the signature of the ailing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, was forged on an official documents sent to his office. Red Details of the letter: It will be recalled that series of allegations and counter allegations has been flying around for sometime over suspicion of forging Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu's signature by unknown person's in the state.

ONDO DEPUTY GOVERNOR DISMISS IMPEACHMENT RUMOUR

  Ondo state Deputy Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa has dispelled rumours of his being served impeachment notice by the state House of Assembly. Mr Ayedatiwa in a letter personally signed by him said, he has not received any correspondence of such nature from any quarters thereby allaying fears from several quarters that the state assembly has invited him for questions on allegations of gross misconduct.
