EX-OYO GOV. OLUNLOYO DEBUNKS DEATH RUMOUR

Elder statesman and former Governor of old Oyo State, Dr Omololu Olunloyo, has broken his silence about the rumour of his death, saying he is alive. Close sources within the Olunloyo in his Molete residence in Ibadan, the state capital on Friday said he is hale and hearty. Earlier, the rumour of the death of the elder statesman was reported by some news platforms. However, Olunloyo, while speaking said, “I’m still here, not yet gone.” He also expressed worry over the rumour and asked who would live forever, stressing,  “Those breaking death news and the person presumed dead will all die one day. “I’ve been lucky.  My father died at 42, while my mother died at 102.  I’m 89. I’ve crossed the expected life age.” The elder statesman also illustrated how the rumour of his death hit several news platforms on June 7, 2022. IBADAN: FAKE DOCTOR REMANDED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING PATIENT

An Iyaganku magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo state, has remanded a 45 year old "fake doctor", Adegoke Olaoluwa, for the alleged murder of his patient, 45 year old Adekunle Badmus. Olaoluwa, from the Idi-Aro area of Ibadan, is facing a one count charge of murder. The Magistrate, A.T. Oyediji, who did not take the defendant’s plea, ordered that Olaoluwa be remanded in the Agodi Correctional Centre in Ibadan, pending legal advice from the office of the state Directorate of Public Prosecution. The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Opeyemi Olagunju, had earlier told the court that the defendant had on Tuesday, February 20, at about 10.00am, at Mercy Clinic and Maternity, Idi-Aro, Ibadan, caused the death of one Badmus, 45, unlawfully. IBADAN EXPLOSION: COURT REMANDS THREE SUSPECTS IN PRISON CUSTODY

A Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan has ordered the remand of a woman and two other men in the Agodi Correctional service  (formerly known as Agodi Prison) for their roles in the January 16, 2024, Bodija, Ibadan explosion. The trio of 47 year old Ramatu Camara, 20 year old Ganiu Malik, and Abubakar Samasa, 64, were charged with conspiracy, use of weapons of mass destruction, stockpiling of radioactive materials, and dispersal of biological weapons, which led to the explosion that rocked Ibadan, the Oyo state capital in January. After pleading not guilty when the charges were read against them, Justice E.U. Akpan ordered that they be remanded in the Agodi correctional centre, and adjourned the suit until April 11 for hearing on their bail application. Police prosecutor, Michael Ojeah, had informed the court that Camara, Malik, and Samasa were facing a five-count charge against the state. VIDEO: HOW BRAKE FAILURE CAUSED IBADAN PLANE CRASH

The plane that crash landed in Ibadan was alleged to have had break failure. The plane flew in from Abuja. The newspot reporter learnt from the officials at the airport that it landed safely but could not hold till it overshot the runway and skidded into nearby bush. The airport officials are refusing to release the manifest for now. However no life was lost and the aircraft was said to be in good condition but had to be delayed pending conclusion of investigation. When contacted, a spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) Tunji Oketunmbi, confirmed the incident but said a team had been dispatched to the site for a probe. The private jet had about 10 persons onboard including Very Important Personalities (VIP'S) who were said came for a birthday celebration. IBADAN EXPLOSION: DELE ALAKE COUNTERS NIYI AKINTOLA CLAIM

    PRESS RELEASE: IBADAN EXPLOSION: ALAKE AWAITS OUTCOME OF FORENSIC INVESTIGATION, MINES INSPECTORATE DEPLOYED . Since the unfortunate incident of the Ibadan explosion, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake swung into action immediately to ascertain the real cause(s) of the blast.  President Bola Tinubu, it would be recalled, placed a phone call to the Oyo state governor in the presence of the minister to commiserate with the governor, victims, and people of Oyo state. IBADAN - ABUJA OVERLAND AIRWAYS PASSENGERS STRANDED AS AIRCRAFT DEVELOPS FAULT AFTER TWO HOURS FLIGHT DELAY

  Passenger en-route the Ibadan - Abuja overland airways flight on Sunday morning were left stranded as the flight scheduled to ply the route failed to pick them to Abuja. The flight which was officially scheduled for 8.25am, Sunday morning did not arrive the  Alakia Ibadan airport until about 10.05 am, about one hour thirty minutes behind schedule. Thinking their waiting plight was over, passengers were called to Board and the aircraft was filled up with anxious customers of the airline eager to meet up with their various appointments in Abuja when suddenly the airline officials announced that the trip has been cancelled due to a fault on the aircraft. Right now, passengers who have booked their flights days ahead are left stranded as abandoned to their fate not sure of Overland airways plans of making alternative arrangements to convey them to Abuja, refund their monies or compensate them for the breach of contract after so much delay. NBA IBADAN BRANCH IDENTIFIES WITH MEMBERS OVER IBADAN EXPLOSION

The executive committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ibadan branch, has sympathized with victims of Tuesday’s explosion at Bodija area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital. The association in a statement by its publicity secretary, Oluwatobi Fatoki, Esq. said the chairman of the association, Folasade Aladeniyi and other members of the executive committee of the Bar reached out to legal practitioners residing and practicing around the axis of the explosion. The association revealed that some legal practitioners from the Ibadan branch of the  NBA, including, the former Governor of old Oyo state, Chief Bola Ige, former deputy governor of Oyo state, Iyiola Oladokun, Niyi Akintola (SAN), Niyi Farinto, Ayo Arowosafe among others, were affected by the explosion.
