The Governing Council of Ajayi Crowther University has assured that the institution will ensure justice for the female student of the institution who was allegedly raped by two vigilance employees of the school on Thursday. A statement signed by the university registrar and secretary of the council, Dr Jadesola Babatola, said the council also condemned the act, while commending the management for taking prompt step to address the allegation and added that the university would cooperate with the police in their investigation. The statement by the governing council said, “The attention of the Governing Council of the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo has been brought to an unfortunate incident that occurred on the University campus in the evening of Thursday, 9th May 2024, resulting in the alleged rape of a female student. “The Council totally condemns in strong terms the said allegation of sexual violence and considers it an abuse of human rights and consequently empathises with the victim

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Dr Olutoyin Okeowo, has described Emeritus Prof Ayo Banjo, as a distinguished personality, whose towering eminence is celebrated widely across the globe. Prof Banjo, who clocks 90 today, served as the pioneer Pro-Chancellor and later, chairman of ACU Board of Trustees, succeeding Emeritus Prof Oladipo Akinkugbe. Before he became pioneer Pro-Chancellor of ACU, he served as chairman of the university implementation committee. In his birthday message to the professor of English, Okeowo said, “Ayo Banjo remains a great man of imposing height, having been able to touch many lives positively and having been very instrumental to nurturing and sustaining the lives of many universities and other socio-political institutions in and outside Nigeria.” Okeowo stated that ACU would continue to benefit from the operational template laid by Banjo as well as benefaction he and other notable individuals who served

Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo recorded a big feat in the final Bar examinations of the Nigeria Law School as four of it's students finished in the first class category. Dean, Faculty of Law of the school, Prof. O.A Onadeko, in a memo addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Timothy Adebayo, disclosed that the performance is unprecedented and phenomenal, stating that the faculty will build on the feat which has placed the Law programme of Ajayi Crowther University among the top faculties of Law in the country and will be sustained in years to come.  Vice-chancellor of the University, Prof. Timothy Adebayo, while expressing his delight at the news, extended his warm congratulations to each and every of the students' for their outstanding performance in the Bar final examination.  He said, the journey to becoming a legal practitioner is undoubtedly demanding and requires unwavering commitment with determination and commended the dedication, hard work, and perseve
