ALLEGATIONS OF NEPOTISM, POOR LEADERSHIP, LEVELLED AGAINST CHIEF JUSTICE OF NIGERIA, OLUKAYODE ARIWOOLA
A group of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and campaigners have raised concerns about the state of Nigeria’s Judiciary under the leadership of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola GCON. In a joint letter addressed to the CJN, dated March 28, 2024, the CSO's expressed their disappointment with the lack of effective reform and the increasing damage to the Judiciary’s reputation due to alleged misuse of authority and poor leadership. The groups noted that since the CJN’s appointment, the Judiciary has failed to improve its public perception and has instead steadily deteriorated.
