The Executive chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon Kehinde Adeyemi Akande has sworn in the newly elected Councillors of Ibadan South West Local Government The Council boss while inaugurating the 12 councillors from ward 1 to 12 solicited for their co-operation and urged them not allow discrimination among them so as to have a successful administration. During the inauguration the Council Helmsman also admonished all the newly sworn in councillors to deal with each other with love, open to advice from people and let love abound.  According to him, "You are not the most knowledgeable or wiser than others, but it is by the grace of God, that you are here today." IBADAN - In a bid to ensure a successful outing for the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming local government election in Oyo State, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Oladeji (Odidiomo), has disbursed over 10 million naira towards mobilization and strategic planning for the election. The funds were disbursed to various wards and local government area party supporters and leaders to support the party's campaign efforts. Odidiomo, who represents Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has been at the forefront of the party's campaign efforts in the state. A judgment by the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has nullified the selection and appointment of Oba Oyeleye Sakirudeen as the Onifiditi of Fiditi.  The court, presided over by Justice K.B. Olawoyin, granted a mandatory injunction setting aside the presentation of the Staff of Office to Oba Sakirudeen on October 18, 2021, by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and other officials.  The court also restrained all defendants from taking further actions towards filling the vacant stool of the Onifiditi of Fiditi pending the determination of the suit.  The plaintiffs, Samuel Ogunkunle and Bayo Oyewale, were represented by R. A. Olawuwo and B.M. Olimene, while the defendants were represented by various counsel.  The court awarded a cost of N200,000 in favor of the plaintiffs and adjourned the suit until May 22."

Ogbomoso - Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has announced the establishment of a Faculty of Law and introduced six new degree programs in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.  This development was confirmed by the acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, during the 16th convocation ceremonies held in the Great Hall. According to Prof. Kalilu, the University is undergoing rapid transformation to fulfill its mandate and the vision of the Visitor, Engr. A Chief Magistrate court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan has granted an order for leave of court to commission a private investigator to investigate and come up with a report on the immediate and remote cause(s) of the January 16, 2024 explosion which rocked the Bodija area of Oyo state. The Honourable Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Subulade Yerima, has issued a notice announcing the Eid-el-Fitri break for the High Court of Justice of Oyo State. Justice Tajudeen Muhammad Abdul Ganiyu as the President Customary Court of Appeal, Oyo State to the State House of Assembly. The request follows the recommendation of Hon. Justice Tajudeen Muhammad Abdul Ganiyu to the National Judicial Council as President of the Court of Appeal by the Oyo State Judicial Service Commission. According to the letter, ” Consequent upon the request, the National Judicial Council has recommended Hon.
