PHOTOS: IBADAN SOUTH-WEST LG COUNCIL BOSS SWEARS IN COUNCILLORS

The Executive chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon Kehinde Adeyemi Akande has sworn in the newly elected Councillors of Ibadan South West Local Government

The Council boss while inaugurating the 12 councillors from ward 1 to 12 solicited for their co-operation and urged them not allow discrimination among them so as to have a successful administration.

During the inauguration the Council Helmsman also admonished all the newly sworn in councillors to deal with each other with love, open to advice from people and let love abound. 

According to him, "You are not the most knowledgeable or wiser than others, but it is by the grace of God, that you are here today."


The Councillors from ward 1 to 12 include:

Shortly after the inauguration, the newly sworn in Councillors had their first plenary meeting during which Hon. Adelodun Adewale Asela from ward 12, emerged the Leader of the House for the second time.

Also, Hon. Adediran Rasaki from ward 6, emerged Deputy Leader, while, Hon, Abideen Yusuf of ward 7, was elected the Majority leader of the House and Hon Sodiq Adelayo Adejare of ward 7, the Chief whip.

The Vice Chairman, Hon Adigun Tajudeen Adeniyi in his remarks encouraged the Councillors to do what is best for the local Government and follow the laid down programmes and policies of the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration.

Hon. Adewale Adelodun Asela, who emerged the Leader of the house appreciated everyone for their presence, promised to co-operate with the executive arm to have a meaningful and smooth administration in Ibadan South West Local Government.

The inauguration which was colourful had in attendance, top Political functionaries from Oyo State, including, the PDP State Exco, all the Local Government PDP Exco's, the Head of local Government Administration, Director of Administration, other Directors and Unit Heads.

MAGISTRATES & LOWER COURT JUDGES ASSURED OF IMPROVED WELFARE PACKAGE(S) IN NIGERIA

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has assured Magistrates and Judges of the lower courts' of ongoing efforts at improving their welfare packages. Justice Ariwoola, who gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Hybrid Refresher Course for Magistrates and Judges of the Lower Courts in Abuja, commended the judges for their efforts at justice delivery, particularly at the grassroots.
