Ogbomoso - Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has announced the establishment of a Faculty of Law and introduced six new degree programs in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.  This development was confirmed by the acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, during the 16th convocation ceremonies held in the Great Hall. According to Prof. Kalilu, the University is undergoing rapid transformation to fulfill its mandate and the vision of the Visitor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.  The new degree programs include Psychology, Mass Communication, Linguistics, Yoruba Theatre Arts, and Political Science, in addition to the newly established Faculty of Law. As tomorrow, Thursday September 14, marks the end of the seven-day seclusion rite of the new Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, there will be official public appearance of the monarch in accordance with tradition. The ceremony, according to a release by His Majesty’s media team, will involve royal parade from Ogbomoso High School to the palace at Oja’gbo. Various events have been lined up also at the palace including an interdenominational service, goodwill messages and invocation of prayers and blessings for the people and community. The occasion will afford the people of Ogbomoso to have interface with the new Oba. The itinerary will begin at Ogbomoso High School end of the city according to the wishes of his subjects and end at the Oja'gbo palace of the monarch the statement concluded.
