OYO STATE JUDICIARY ANNOUNCE EID-EL-FITRI BREAK



The Honourable Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Subulade Yerima, has issued a notice announcing the Eid-el-Fitri break for the High Court of Justice of Oyo State.

The break will commence on April 8, 2024, and end on April 15, 2024, both dates inclusive.

The notice, issued under the powers conferred by Paragraph 4 (d) of Order 55 of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2022, states that during this period, civil actions may be heard only in cases of urgency or when a Judge, at the request of all parties concerned, agrees to hear such actions.

The Eid-el-Fitri break is an annual observance in the Oyo State judiciary, allowing Muslim Judges, lawyers, and court staff celebrate the Islamic festival marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The notice was signed by Justice Iyabo Subulade Yerima on April 2, 2024, and is in accordance with the powers vested in her office as the Chief Judge of Oyo State.

Legal practitioners and the general public are advised to take note of this announcement and plan their legal activities accordingly. 

The High Court of Justice of Oyo State is expected to resume regular operations on April 16, 2024.
