AJAYI CROWTHER UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES PIONEER PRO-CHANCELLOR, AYO BANJO AT 90

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Dr Olutoyin Okeowo, has described Emeritus Prof Ayo Banjo, as a distinguished personality, whose towering eminence is celebrated widely across the globe.

Prof Banjo, who clocks 90 today, served as the pioneer Pro-Chancellor and later, chairman of ACU Board of Trustees, succeeding Emeritus Prof Oladipo Akinkugbe. Before he became pioneer Pro-Chancellor of ACU, he served as chairman of the university implementation committee.

In his birthday message to the professor of English, Okeowo said, “Ayo Banjo remains a great man of imposing height, having been able to touch many lives positively and having been very instrumental to nurturing and sustaining the lives of many universities and other socio-political institutions in and outside Nigeria.”

Okeowo stated that ACU would continue to benefit from the operational template laid by Banjo as well as benefaction he and other notable individuals who served the institutions have attracted to the university.

Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Timothy Adebayo, in his message said the university community will continue to celebrate Prof Banjo for his visionary leadership and exemplary dedication to advancing the university's mission of academic excellence and moral uprightness.

"Prof Ayo Banjo embodies the spirit of service and integrity that defines Ajayi Crowther University. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping the trajectory of our university, guiding us towards the realisation of our collective aspirations.

“As we celebrate this milestone, the university expresses profound gratitude for the privilege of having Prof Banjo as our pioneer Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. BETTA EDU: EFCC RECOVERS 30 BILLION NAIRA

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has so far recovered 30 Billion naira for the Federal Government while it has also placed 50 bank accounts under investigation in the ongoing probe of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, including the erstwhile chief executive officer of the now suspended National Social Investment Programme Authority (NSIPA), Halima Shehu. NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL TO CLEAR BACKLOG OF ADMISSION

  The management of Nigerian Law school has been given the go-ahead to clear the back log of admission for qualified law graduates who are yet to be admitted for the mandatory one year training Programme for legal practitioners in Nigeria. This decisions formed part of the resolution of the Council for Legal Education at it's just concluded council meeting.
