AKEREDOLU: NBA PRESIDENT LEADS NATIONAL OFFICERS ON CONDOLENCE

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN has led the General Secretary, Adesina Adegbite, the 3rd Vice President, Amanda Demechi-Asagba, the Welfare Secretary, Chinyere Obasi and members of the NBA on a condolence visit to the family of former NBA President and Governor of Ondo State, late Arakurin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, CON, SAN at the family’s residence in Ibadan.

While condoling with the family, Mr. Maikyau noted that the former NBA President “was one of the most influential and courageous Presidents ever to lead the NBA.” 

The NBA President prayed that “God Almighty will comfort the hearts of all members of his family, his colleagues and friends.” 

The NBA delegation was received by Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, wife of the former governor and other members of the Akeredolu’s family. 

Joining the National Officers on the visit were the Chairpersons of the Ibadan, Ikeja, Lagos, and Ikorodu Branches of the NBA, as well as other distinguished members of the NBA. 

Mr. Maikyau also led the delegation to sign the condolence register in honour of the former NBA President.

Governor Akeredolu who passed away on 27 December, 2023 served as the 24th President of the Nigerian Bar Association, between 2008 and 2010 and his administration as NBA President was renowned for its active commitment to the rule of law, effective administration of justice and protection of human rights.
