NBA STAMP APPLICATION GOES DIGITAL: SEE PROCEDURE FOR E-REQUEST




PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE APPLICATION FOR STAMPS


Distinguished Colleagues,

In furtherance of the current ongoing efforts to digitize the NBA Secretariat, I am pleased to inform you that application for stamp should now be made online via the NBA Portal. 

While all manual applications previously received before this publication will be processed, it is advisable that subsequent application for stamp should be done online through the portal.

Please find below the step-by-step process for applying for stamps on the NBA Portal:

PAID STAMPS APPLICATION:

Step 1: 

Login: Access your portal and navigate to the payment section, then choose “Stamp and Seal.”

Step 2:   

Pack Selection: Select the desired number of packs from the dropdown options and proceed by clicking on the “Next” button.

Step 3:   

Preview and Payment: Review your selection and proceed to make the payment for your stamp.

Step 4:   

Select “Stamp Application.”

Step 5:    

Click on the three-dot menu under the “Action” column.

Step 6:     

Select “Upload Document”, then upload evidence of payment of your Branch Dues  (branch dues receipt/teller) for the current year.

Step 7:     

Select Type of Stamp: Public (RED) or Private (GREEN)


COMPLIMENTARY STAMPS APPLICATION:

Every lawyer who paid BPF between the 1st January and 31st March of 2024 is entitled to 48 free stamps (2 packs). 

Please note that evidence of payment of branch dues MUST be uploaded to successfully complete the application process.

Upon payment of BPF, your complimentary stamps will automatically appear in the stamp application section, but can only be claimed after uploading evidence of payment of Branch Dues.

N.B:  All members who had already applied for stamps online without attachment of Branch Dues receipts are hereby advised to proceed to the NBA Portal to upload their Branch Dues receipts, as payment of Branch Dues is a prerequisite for the release of stamps or dispatch to Branches.

All processed stamps shall be dispatched to various Branches of the applicants for collection.

BETTA EDU: EFCC RECOVERS 30 BILLION NAIRA

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has so far recovered 30 Billion naira for the Federal Government while it has also placed 50 bank accounts under investigation in the ongoing probe of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, including the erstwhile chief executive officer of the now suspended National Social Investment Programme Authority (NSIPA), Halima Shehu. Both Edu and Shehu were suspended about three months ago by President Bola Tinubu over alleged financial malfeasance.  The President also suspended Social Investment Programme and, thereafter, asked the EFCC to take over the case and probe both embattled officials including anyone involved. NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL TO CLEAR BACKLOG OF ADMISSION

  The management of Nigerian Law school has been given the go-ahead to clear the back log of admission for qualified law graduates who are yet to be admitted for the mandatory one year training Programme for legal practitioners in Nigeria. This decisions formed part of the resolution of the Council for Legal Education at it's just concluded council meeting.
