FAMILY PETITION OLUBADAN TO REMOVE AZEEM GBOLARUMI AS MOGAJI

The Olugbesan family members of Oke-Agbeni, Ibadan have petitioned the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Moshood Olalekan Balogun seeking the removal of Hazeem Gbolarunmi as their Mogaji.

The petition was titled: “REQUEST TO WITHDRAW MOGAJI APPOINTMENT ON HAZEEM GBOLARUNMI”, and was signed by;

Alhaji Lukman Durosomo Olugbesan,

Tunbosun Durosomo Olugbesan, 

Chief Taofeek Olugbesan, 

Akibu Durosomo Olugbesan, 

Labisi Olumide Olugbesan, 

Sunkanmi Labisi Olugbesan, and 

Monsura Olugbesan.

They accused the former deputy governor, Hazeem Gbolarunmi of engaging in actions capable of damaging the reputation, unity and peaceful co-existence among members of Olugbesan family.

“Your Imperial Majesty sir, we are writing this letter to inform you of the collective decision of Olugbesan Family of Oke-Agbeni, Ibadan, to withdraw the Mogaji appointment earlier given to Hazeem Gbolarunmi.”

The letter reads: “For your information sir, since his appointment as Mogaji Olugbesan family in 2008, he has used the position to acquire family properties for his personal use and also caused division among family members who have become enemies to one another today.”

“Sir, it is on record that he was made the Mogaji of our family based on the belief of few elders in the family that he could use his position as former Deputy Governor to promote peace, unity and development of the family, but unfortunately it is personal ambition of coveting the family’s property that he has championed.”

The family further accused Gbolarunmi of becoming an emperor of sort, and a dictator whose whims and caprices must not bend to popular opinion in the family.

“The family today wallow in regrets for making someone of his antecedents, Mogaji of our respectable family.”

“Your Imperial Majesty sir, his latest atrocity that we have just discovered is that he has been secretly selling our ancestral family land at Olugbesan village, Ido Local Government area of Oyo State.”

“Upon investigation, we discovered that Hazeem Gbolarunmi has been using some people to sell our family’s land of about 350 hectares and which proceeds he keeps to himself without informing the family members.

“Sir, based on the established laws and tradition of Ibadanland, the family of Olugbesan Oke-Agbeni Ibadan is using this medium to appeal to you to approve the removal of Hazeem Gbolarunmi as the Mogaji of Olugbesan Family.”

VIDEO: EFCC BARRICADES GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO'S HOUSE IN ABUJA

  Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have barricaded the house of the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello in Wuse, Abuja.
