LETTER: SEYI MAKINDE DUMPS WIKE, WRITES PDP BOT TO REINSTATE SUSPENDED NAT. SECRETARY, ANYANWU

Oyo state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has written to the Board of Trustee chairman of the People's Democratic Party, Sen. Adolphus Wabara to resolve the lingering crisis rocking the position of the National Secretary of the party in the spirit of readiness and preparedness towards winning the 2027 general elections. It will be recalled that Makinde, Wike, and three other PDP Governor's pulled their support for the then presidential candidate of the APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu against the interest of the presidential flag bearer of the PDP Atiku Abubakar. Read Copy of Letter Below: Currently, little or nothing is known or heard of the then vibrant G-5 Governors led by former Governor of Rivers state, Nyesome Wike who is a major beneficiary of the effort of the G-5 Governors at ensuring victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 2023 polls except for the recent outburst of Samuel Ortom, the immediate past governor of Benue state who seem left out in the scheme of things

ABACHA LOOT: U.S COURT ORDERS REPATRIATION OF $8.9 MILLION STOLEN IN 2014 TO NIGERIA

A New Jersey court in the United States has ruled that assets worth around $8.9 million stolen by government officials in Nigeria around 2014 can be returned to Nigeria. Following the service of a forfeiture notice by Jersey’s Attorney General to the Royal Court in November, the court concluded that funds deposited in a Jersey bank account were likely misappropriated by officials in the Nigerian Government in 2014. Negotiations for the return of these assets will now take place with the Federal Republic of Nigeria.  The transfer of money was disguised as government-sanctioned contracts for arms purchases during the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria between 2009 and 2015.
