OAU ALUMNI HONOUR OYO HEAD OF SERVICE

Obafemi Awolowo University, 1989 Political Science set, OAU, Ile-Ife on Sunday organized a civic reception to honour the Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni on her appointment as the State Head of Service.

The programme was held at Nest Hotel and Suites. Ibadan.

The Head of Service appreciated all her classmates, Permanent Secretaries and other invited guests for celebrating her success in the State Civil Service.

She said she did not lobby anybody to become the Head of Service, saying that she only lobbied God to count her worthy for the position.

She advised people at the programme to put their trust in God alone and do the right thing whenever they are in the midst of people, hinting that, you don't know who is watching you.

The President of the association, Mr. Joseph Shopade, said Mrs Oni was a disciplined, cultured, radical, loved and brilliant student when she was at OAU Ile-Ife.

Shopade added further that as a public servant, she is objective and committed to duty and runs an open-door policy of administration.

An Iyaganku Chief Magistrate court has remanded in prison custody, a 59 year old ex-student of Government College Ibadan, Debo Adegbola over a three count charge bothering on indecent touching, sexual assault and breach of public peace. The accused, who is an automobile dealer who pleaded not guilty to the charges had on Saturday, 17th February, 2024, at a burial party in a popular event center along poly Eleyele road in Ibadan, indecently touched the victim in sensitive parts of her body publicly without her consent. MAGISTRATES & LOWER COURT JUDGES ASSURED OF IMPROVED WELFARE PACKAGE(S) IN NIGERIA

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has assured Magistrates and Judges of the lower courts' of ongoing efforts at improving their welfare packages. Justice Ariwoola, who gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Hybrid Refresher Course for Magistrates and Judges of the Lower Courts in Abuja, commended the judges for their efforts at justice delivery, particularly at the grassroots.
