NBTE ACCREDITATION TEAM VISIT OYSCOHEST


ACCESS SIX  ACADEMIC  PROGAMMES


Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan (OYSCOHEST) has recorded  another academic feat, with the visit of the National Board for Technical Education's Accreditation Team for the Resource Inspection exercise of six of its  academic programmes.

The six programmes are HND Dental Nursing, Dental Therapy, Health Information Management, Nutrition and Dietetics, Environmental Health Technology  and National Diploma in Paramedics Technology.

Briefing the Management and Staff of the College at the end of the exercise, the NBTE Team Lead, Prince (Dr.) Murtala Aliyu Sakwa commended the Management of the College for the infrastructural development between October, 2022 during their last visit and  November this year,  advising the Management to forge ahead in sustaining the tempo.

He said the NBTE Team is impressed with what they met on ground, noting with delight that the College Management is doing well. 

Prince (Dr.) Murtala Sakwa lauded the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde  for his apparent support for the College and the good development of the State.

Also speaking, the Director of Monotechnics of NBTE, Alhaji Samaila Tanko said the College had done so much to upgrade its standard compared to what was met on ground last year, advising the College Management not to relent in their efforts in moving the College forward. 

In her remarks, the Provost of the College, Pharmacist Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo appreciated the NBTE Team for the objectivity in their assessment  and commended the Visitor to the College, the Executive Governor,  Engr. Seyi Makinde  for his constant support for the College.

She assured the Visiting NBTE Team that the College will continue to improve on the existing facilities to create an enabling environment for teaching and learning .

Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo, also appreciated the Governing Council, the Management and Staff for their various contributions towards the progress of the College.

Receiving the NBTE Team in her office, the Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi  thanked the team for the visit, promising that the College will continue to receive Oyo State Government's  attention  and support for its overall progress.

Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan was established on April 1, 1933, and has the mandate to train middle level health care manpower.

The College is currently running nineteen Health Courses.

BETTA EDU: EFCC RECOVERS 30 BILLION NAIRA

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has so far recovered 30 Billion naira for the Federal Government while it has also placed 50 bank accounts under investigation in the ongoing probe of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, including the erstwhile chief executive officer of the now suspended National Social Investment Programme Authority (NSIPA), Halima Shehu. Both Edu and Shehu were suspended about three months ago by President Bola Tinubu over alleged financial malfeasance.  The President also suspended Social Investment Programme and, thereafter, asked the EFCC to take over the case and probe both embattled officials including anyone involved. NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL TO CLEAR BACKLOG OF ADMISSION

  The management of Nigerian Law school has been given the go-ahead to clear the back log of admission for qualified law graduates who are yet to be admitted for the mandatory one year training Programme for legal practitioners in Nigeria. This decisions formed part of the resolution of the Council for Legal Education at it's just concluded council meeting. The council announced the commencement of a Mid-Year Academic Session for the 2024/2025 academic calendar by May to address the backlog of law graduates resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the Industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).  According to the council, this session is however not open to universities that exceeded their approved admission quotas.
