VIDEO: HOW BISI OLOPOEYAN RECONCILED SEYI MAKINDE, AZEEM GBOLARUMI

Just as Nigerian's were settling down to watch the finals of the African Cup of Nations played between Nigeria and Ivory coast, pictures and videos of Nigerians who were in hand to have a first hand feel of the AFCON finals were all over the internet.

One of such pictures is that of Oyo state Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde with his political ally Alh. Bisi Olopoeyan.

One interesting fact in all of these pictures and videos is that of a former deputy Governor in oyo state, Alh. Azeem GBOLARUMI who was seen in the entourage of Gov. Seyi Makinde.

Watch Video:

As strange as it was and an usual scene it seem as it is common knowledge that there is no love lost between the duo of Engr. Seyi Makinde and Alh. Azeem Gbolarumi, a situation which became more pronounced at the twilight of the 2023 general elections when Gbolarumi, in the company of former Governor Rasheed Ladoja and many other politicians in the state openly campaigned against the re-election of Gov. Seyi Makinde and threw their support for Sen. Teslim Folarin who eventually lost to the incumbency of Gov. Seyi Makinde.

Findings by Zynga News.com revealed that the once sour relationship between the duo seems to be calming down gradually and the South West leader of the NNPP, Alh. Bisi Olopoeyan is the brain behind the reconciliation move.

Inside sources from the Agodi GRA residence of Gov. Seyi Makinde revealed that Gbolarumi used the opportunity of the courtesy visit by the BOT members of the People's Democratic Party to commiserate with the people and government of Oyo state over the Bodija explosion to have access to the governor for the first time after the series of brick-bat that preceeded the 2023 elections, even though he was not a BOT member of the PDP.

It was at this meeting that Gbolarumi had a one on one conversation with the governor and tried to explain his own side of the story unsuccessfully.

Days after the first meeting, efforts by Gbolarumi to get across to the Governor proved abortive as his calls and text messages were left unattended for days until a few days before the Nigeria - South Africa match when Olopoeyan and Seyi Makinde were in  a meeting and Gbolarumi's calls cam in again.

There and then, Olopoeyan pleaded with the governor to grant Gbolarumi audience which the Governor surprisingly obliged and directed that Olopoeyan should bring Gbolarumi along with him to watch the Nigeria - South Africa Match together.

It was while watching the match that Gbolarumi caught wind of Gov. Seyi Makinde's plan to be on ground to cheer the super eagles to victory at the finals of the AFCON cup that he expressed his willingness to be part of the Oyo Governor's entourage to Ivory coast which the Governor did not object to.

It was also revealed that Gbolarumi was able to table before the Governor some vital discussions, which the Governor also acceded to and will lead to Alh. Azeem Gbolarumi transiting from Ivory coast en-route London the source revealed.
