  Hon. Justice Adegboye Ayinla Gbolagunte of High Court of Justice Oyo State is dead. Family Source said he passed on at 11 am on Monday 24 June 2024 during a protracted illness. He was aged 64. The late Justice Gbolagunte was one of the sons of late Chief Davidson Mokolade Gbolagunte, who was an elected UPN member for Ibarapa I Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly and became the Speaker . He is survived by his aged mother, wife, children, brothers and sisters. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Ahead of the 2026 turn of the six western states in Yorubaland, including, Edo and Delta, to present the next President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) and Chief Adeniyi Akintola (SAN), have urged their members to vote for any candidate from Osun state as it will by then be the turn of Oyo/Osun block. The Governing Council of Ajayi Crowther University has assured that the institution will ensure justice for the female student of the institution who was allegedly raped by two vigilance employees of the school on Thursday. A statement signed by the university registrar and secretary of the council, Dr Jadesola Babatola, said the council also condemned the act, while commending the management for taking prompt step to address the allegation and added that the university would cooperate with the police in their investigation. The statement by the governing council said, “The attention of the Governing Council of the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo has been brought to an unfortunate incident that occurred on the University campus in the evening of Thursday, 9th May 2024, resulting in the alleged rape of a female student. “The Council totally condemns in strong terms the said allegation of sexual violence and considers it an abuse of human rights and consequently empathises with the victim
